General

From Innsbruck main station:

It’s about a 15-minute walk to the venue outside the State Theater (Tiroler Landestheater).

Take the bus 504 in direction Hall in Tirol and get off at the stop outside the Innsbruck police direction from where it’s a 6-minute walk to the venue. The bus runs every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes from 7:30 PM, and once every hour from 9:00 PM.

 

From the airport:

The F bus takes about 12 minutes to the Anichstrasse/Rathausgalerien stop, from where it is about 8 minutes walk to the venue. The bus runs every 15 minutes approx.

 

By car:

Innsbruck is easy to reach by car. 

  • Coming from Vienna: Autobahn A12.
  • Coming from Switzerland: Autobahn A12. Take the Arlberg tunnel or, if you want to avoid paying tolls, the Arlberg pass.
  • Coming from Italy: A13 (Brennerautobahn); you’ll have to pay tolls from Innsbruck-Süd.
  • Coming from Osttirol: Take the Felbertauerntunnel (tolls) or drive through the Pustertal valley. 

Please take note of the “Vignette”, which is mandatory on all Austrian Autobahn highways. Further information can be found here.

By bus:

The bus 590 leaves from Innsbruck main station every 30 minutes and drops you off at the venue in Neustift im Stubai. It takes about 30 minutes to get there.

 

By car:

Coming from Innsbruck, it takes about 20 minutes to get to the Stubaital valley via the Brennerautobahn (Europabrücke). Take the Schönberg exit, which is the first town in the Stubaital, continue to Mieders, Telfes, Fulpmes an Neustift. If you want to avoid paying tolls, take the Brennerstraße to Schönberg (approx. 35 min drive).

Innsbruck

Stubai

No. All WMTRC events and fringe events are free of charge. You only need tickets for the “Cheering Bus”.

The best way to get there is by taking the “Cheering Bus”, which leaves for the hotspots daily from Innsbruck and Stubai. The tickets are € 25 per day and € 60 for 3 days; they are available online on our website or on-site at the info booth.

The ticket gets you to all the hotspots along the routes as well as to the venues in Innsbruck and Stubai. The package is available on a daily basis or for several days. It includes the bus and all the cable cars required to get to the routes. It is available on our website or at the Info Booth on-site in Innsbruck and Stubai. A day ticket is € 20, while a 3-day ticket is € 50.

The Cheering Bus tickets include both the bus and the cable cars. You can use the cable cars in order to get to the routes on the mountains. Some routes pass directly by the cable car stations.

The Cheering Bus ticket includes both the bus and the cable cars. If you only require a cable car ticket you have to pay the price indicated at the respective cable car station.

We offer a very diverse fringe program.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023 our TT School Day starts at 9:00 AM, with attractions such as a giant foosball table.

There’ll be a City Trail for our athletes in the old town, which at certain times can also be used by anyone interested.

There won’t be any childcare.

Yes. It is important to us to make everyone feel welcome at the event, which is why we make sure it is accessible in Innsbruck as well as Stubai.

Generally speaking, yes. However, the venues will be very busy, which can be very demanding for pets. Dogs must be kept on a leash.

The venues are open daily until 10:00/11:00 PM; further information will be supplied closer to the date.

There is limited space at both venues, which is why the rule of thumb is: First come, first serve. Therefore, in order for you to get the most out of your visit to the WMTRC, we recommend you get there as early as possible.

Yes. The stalls are open as follows:

June 1: 5:00 to 9:00 PM
June 2: 12:00 to 7:00 PM
June 3: 10:00 to 7:00 PM
From June 6 to 10: 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM; they offer Flammkuchen, “Alpine doner” and many other options.

Expo

The Expo is free for everyone.

In Innsbruck:

The Spectator Guide has an overview of exhibitors and the entire program during the WMTRC23 as well as extensive additional information. There will be an online version available on our website and printed versions at the venues in addition to selected hotels and the Tourist Information in Stubai, Innsbruck as well as the Tirol Werbung info point.

Most exhibitors at the Expo offer cash, debit card and credit payment.

Competitions

Vertical: 7.3km 1020 meters in altitude

Trail Short: 44.6km, 3132 positive and 2719 negative meters in altitude

Trail Long: 85,6km, 5554 positive and 966 negative meters in altitude

Mountain Classic: Loop 1: 6.7km, 374 meters in altitude, Loop: 2.7km, 377 meters in altitude

We will keep a close look on the weather. Races might be delayed by hours, pushed to the next day or aborted/cancelled, according to the motto: Safety first!

In general it is possible to move the races to different days within the WMTRC timeframe.

Yes, there will be a medal ceremony every day at 6:30 PM.

Wednesday and Thursday: in Neustift im Stubaital.

Friday and Saturday: in Innsbruck.

There will be athletes from almost 70 nations who have signed up for the WMTRC 2023.

They differ in terms of length and meters in altitude.
