Courses
The courses are rich in variety, challenging, iconic – and definitely worthy of a world championship. The title races will be held in some of the most scenic places in the Alps, such as the Kalkkögel – the so-called “Dolomites of North Tyrol”, at the foot of the Elfer peak – offering views of the Stubai Glacier -, and along the Nordkette, the iconic mountain range towering above Innsbruck: A sight to behold for both athletes and spectators.
Trail Short
The “Trail Short” course is a very technical route with an alpine approach. 50 % of the total route are above 1,500 m altitude, and 18 % of the total route are above 2,000 m altitude. The course can be divided into three parts. The first technical exit of the city area, the flat-ish crossing of the Inn Valley, and the alpine transition to the Stubai valley.
Mountain Classic
The “Mountain Classic” loops of the WMTRC23 are short, almost similar loops starting and finishing in the City of Innsbruck. The route is amazing and creates the perfect spectacle for the audience and spectators as every part of the course is easily accessible. The uphill is steep and technical but gives enough space to overtake.
Vertical
The “Vertical” course is a brilliant mountain uphill race starting at our venue in Neustift and finishing at the „Elferhütte“. The ascent starts after only 300 m which requires a kick-start from the athletes. On the narrow and technical trails uphill overtaking is going to be a challenge.
Trail Long
The “Trail Long” course is a very technical route with a high alpine approach, that connects the start venue in Neustift with the finish venue in Innsbruck. 50 % of the total route is above 1,500 m altitude, and 31 % of the total route is above 1,900 m altitude. The diverse course is characterized by steep and technical up- and downhills which is very common in this alpine region.
Courses
Um Medaillen gekämpft wird auf abwechslungsreichen, anspruchsvollen und definitiv WM-würdigen Strecken – und auf ikonischen noch dazu.
